Hello PETER,

PC> Sorry , I beg to differ with you over the abuse of OHIP as we have
PC> here in Ontario. Family's bring in relatives from other countrys and
PC> pass them off as family via the loop holes to get the OHIP, thus the
PC> new rules for a number of years to getting and keeping a card.

PC> Also, with abuse, is family's wanting to holiday, thus they put their
PC> senior family member's into hospitals under the pretence of a heart
PC> attack , thus they get room and board for that 2 week holiday ...etc
PC> and collect mum or pop on the way home from the airport.

Wow, I have not seen or heard of anything like this. That needs fixing for sure.

PC> Actually, my wife tells me that the NDP candidate came to the door
PC> and was on about improvements of OHIP here in Ontario and across
 PC> CANADA. I am waiting to hear a NDP'er propose a private member's
PC> bill on this matter...but I will not hold my breath.

It may happen yet, time will tell..

PC> Mr. Harper is all we really have, weenie or not. Call another
PC> election and he'd be in again. The last one was predicted, what
PC> a waste when that money could have gone to better use.

I hope we don't have another election for four or five years. I'm all for
democracy but this is all a bit much. Maybe I wouldn't mind if there was
any party I had some faith in, but I still don't see it.

We have the same situation here in BC provicially. We kicked the NDP good,
but they were replaced by Gordon Campbell & the BC liberals. I think
most British Columbians would like to kick them good too but there is no
one to replace them.

What to do.

AI>> The Bloc.. to bad our universal health care didn't have a cure
AI>> for that.. a federal party elected to serve the
AI>> needs/wants/desires of one province.. Sick.

PC> Whenever I am confronted by the BLOC and those all for them, I say
PC> "GO"! I'll even donate the Carpy-Tire money they'll be needing to
PC> be ...a country. BUT... they're country will be a small one
PC> and certainly not the size Quebec is today.

PC> I think given time, they will either disappear, or there will be one
PC> showdown with those of us , sick n tired of all their threats.

That's a real nasty one. I don't mind if they go or stay. If they want to
go, pick up their toys and go. If they want to stay be part of the solution
instead of part of the problem.

PC> Take care ... gotta run...need a log for the fire....Brrrr cool here
 PC> in Have-not-Province Ontario

Don't feel bad, that happened in BC once or twice too.. :)

 Ttyl :-),
         Al

... No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway.
