Reports out today or yesterday say inflation has been very moderate
recently which is low considering non-moderate inflation these days would
be anything above 3 to 4 percent per year.
The economy is doing well. There are a few rust belt industries in Ohio
and Michigan that have been slowly on a death march largely due to Union
excesses of the past 40 years. The precedents set with the Unions in the
60's and 70's were the slow death knell for these industries. Combine that
with management screw ups, and they aren't able to compete.
