EG> I don't know about you but I much prefer watching ESPN's news
EG> division than the *normal* Sports Center. I've grown so tired of all
EG> the histrionics that come out of the mouths of the boobs on SC and
EG> enjoy sitting back and getting the news as it was intended. SC used to
EG> be far more enjoyable until guys like Olbermann hit the air and the
EG> English language was replaced by "GUHHHH." ESPN's news bunch gives you
EG> what you want and it's in English, too. I don't know, maybe it's
EG> because I was spoiled by the fact that Howard Cosell could lend
EG> excitement to highlights AND do it using words that didn't sound like

You and I are in agreement on this one. It seems that others are
beginning to speak out as well. Olbermann is now history. Apparently,
he is considering Court TV. This really does not surprise me. He never
struck me as much of a sports fan, which was painfully obvious if you
watched him on SC.
I much prefer the SC hosts who have played it straight for the most
part, like Robin Roberts.

EG> Like it or not, Iron Mike haters (or doubters) - Ditka is proving that
EG> he still knows what he's doing. The Saints aren't going to be instant
EG> Super Bowl contenders, however, they're going to be in great position
EG> for the playoffs for years to come.

How so? I have been watching his moves closely, and the only thing that
he has done is bring in "his kind of players", which is the same thing
that every new coach with some clout does.
He traded for Heath Shuler and drafted a bunch of guys that nobody else
wanted. Since Shuler is unproven, and the other guys have yet to play a
down in the NFL, how can you say that Ditka has improved the team?

 EG> ****
EG> BTW, has anyone noticed that the only team that runs the West Coast
EG> offense like the *old* New Orleans Saints (Get deep into the
EG> opponent's side of the field and then settle for a FG), Kansas City,
EG> is putting a little more zip into their offense?

Lots more with the recent signings of Perriman and Rison.

EG> My friend Mike is in heaven with the sweep of the Flyers. I'll have to
EG> admit that I pulled for Detroit because I can't stand that goon
EG> Lindros and his Legion of Goons and not because I like Detroit.
I did not see much in way of goon play from either team in that series.
... Ask yourself, how would Bugs Bunny have handled this?
