Hi Michael,
>>>
I am about to finish polishing and after inquiring about aluminium
coating
here in Brisbane ($380 for 10"!!) I am looking at doing a silver coat instead.
My question is, Can the protective coatings they use on aluminium be put
over the silver as I assume it is not an electrically driven process in a
vacuum chamber?
<<<
In France a company proposes also protected silver. Done in vacuum as for
standard Al, as far as I know. I recently *heard* however that the
longevity is quite shorter than std aluminium.
And, in any case all their coatings are horribly expensive! On the other hand,
even here in Europe $380 to coat a 10" seems much!
Fr‚d‚ric, do you wish to comment further?
