They don't listen because they are either incompetent or corrupt sellouts.
I just got an email from one of my two senators attempting to justify his
work on actively supporting this bill and trying to lie me into believing
he and this bill are conservative and OK.  You can imagine what I gladly
emailed back to him.

They are so arrogant and elitist that they think they can lie to us and
tell us white is black, we are stupid and just don't understand, and that
we'll all just go "oh OK well thanks for explaining it to me; now I
support the incompetent monkey boy and his immigration reform plan".

Incompetence, arrogance, elitism, and sellouts for cash money, that seems
to be the McConnell, McCain, Graham, Chambliss, Isakson, et al formula for
legislative analysis.
