I could add that it happened several times to me to lose one or several
tiles (once even an important area), without that it has had an observable
effect on the quality of the fine ground surface.

Now if you had glazed tiles, and by very bad luck one made first contact
only late in the fine grinding, I imagine that you could get a few
scratches??
