I think a lot of areas have had record breaking weather, especially this
year, but in recent years as well. The 'records' broken where I live were
basically minor and inconvenient rather than life-threatening as they were
in a lot of other places so I can't complain too much.

Mine was an Apple II+ Clone that I built myself. Funny the cost of things
back then.. we were all making maybe 1/10th the money we are now yet you
could spend $400 to buy a floppy drive and $3 each for the disks. You had
to be pretty serious about computers to get into them. Not only was it a
major job to learn how to run them but a good one would cost almost as
much as a cheap new car...

PH>First modem was 1200 baud... how sad is that eh? ;-)

I got into computers fairly early but I didn't immediately get into modems.
My first was a 2400 baud although at that time I was maintaining the
computers for the township (municipality, county) and having to deal with
their 300 baud modem... B)

Oh.. quite a bit cooler there in summer than I would have guessed.

We here get a bit of a laugh when we see some areas further south
talking about a city crippled and the schools closed because they
got 10 cm of snow.. We hardly blink until we get up over 20 cm.. B)

PH>Wow that's a temp swing I've never experienced.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger ?.. B)

Best wishes..
