From: "Jerry B. Hillman" To: Reply-To: "Jerry B. Hillman" Hi all, Would someone please point me to a web site or whatever so that I can learn to make a star lap. Working TOT with this 10" tool creates problems for every problem I solve. Primarily, if I polish off center, the inside edge of the lap digs a hole in the center of the mirror. If I polish COC, the center goes flat. The W stroke creates a rolled edge regardless of overhang. I am doing something wrong and all but the very newest links in the archives are dead links. All I was able to find out is that a star lap makes it easier to parabolize a large mirror.
