Hi, Dominique--

DK> It was basically a glorified episode of the old show, eh? Cute...but I
DK> really hoped for something a little more...contemporary.

I kind of liked the mix of old and new. However, it is kind of hard to believe
that they'd still be living in the "pad," still driving the Monkeemobile and
still looking for a gig. I thought some of it was pretty silly, but so was the
original. I kind of liked the references to the old stuff.

DK> Mike's dry sense of humor showed through at times, but I suppose *that*
DK> was lost on the casual watchers.

I thought it was neat that he wrote and directed it.

DK> It was a cute exercise in nostolgia (albiet with a couple of new songs
DK> tossed into the mix), but I could get that by re-watching my tapes of
DK> the 60s show. If they did this as a sitcom type show, it might have
DK> been more interesting if they showed each guy in a different
DK> place/career...maybe bringing them together for a reunion concert or

Yeah, that would have been a little more realistic. (Then again, I shouldn't
be expecting realism from The Monkees. :)) I thought it was O.K. It was nice
to see them again, but I didn't think the show was toospectacular.

What kind of music does she sing? :) Right now, I'm listening to --Beau Woes
(and Other Problems of Modern Life)--by Christine Lavin.
