No, I don't think she really had the right stuff to do the job.

She was the sacrificial lamb and probably purposely chosen for her
gender to make Mulroney look more open minded on his way out..

But the election is over with a massive majority Liberal (Democrat)
gov't. I expected that but not to the extent it ended up. 71 to 26
Even The leader of the PC's (Republican), John Tory, lost his own
riding (district?). He had this great speech about how he's made
such great progress for the PC party but just not enough to win
the election. Good thing noone bothered to ask him how that jives
with the fact that they lost worse this time than last time.
About 50% voter turnout, down from the usual 60 - 65%.
I *believe* the new voting system got trash canned too..

Oddly, after all our talking about it, I totally forgot the vote was
today until about 7 pm. My participation wouldn't have mattered
much anyways seeing as the local PC guy won it by about 5000 votes.
It's been PC (Republican) here almost forever.
