Replying to a message from Rob McCart 1:2320/105 to Bob Ackley, About Canadian Troops Come Home, On Thu Oct 04 2007 RM> Not that we're much different.. We did have a (non-elected) woman RM> Prime Minister here very briefly but I try not to blame that RM> disaster directly on her or her gender.. First off this is coming from a social democrat (NDP) me. The biggest screw ups in Canadian Politics in the last 35 years or so was the defeat of the Joe Clark government, Joe was a good PM and an excellent MP (was mine for years), highly respected and at the same token highly feared, if you were a civil servant you had best serve the people and not be restrictive. Kim Campbell was a scapegoat plain and simple, I think she could have made a hell of a difference in Canada, but the worst PM of all Brian Mulroney made damned good and sure that would not happen, by decimating the Conservatives. Today Stephen Harper is a very dangerous man to have in Ottawa, all his ideas are just that ideas and based upon theories that have not been proven to be good. Hope this helps. Keep us posted. We are a fine board trying to make it better. http://www.pris.bc.ca/ghannah ghannah{at}pris.bc.ca Cheers!
