its not the phone rechargine its memory so that rules out that one.

being on a AXE exchange its pretty noiseless, well compared to
the ole ARE's at any rate.

every place i call i get the same probs, my ISP, and 4 other bbs'es,
my two uni's (which alone have a pool of 200 odd modems) :(

i will try that init string n see how it goes.
