Hi..
GK> CH> My 288 series picks busy on 9585 exchange, but not 9583 exchange, for
GK> CH> example. 9583 does not yet support ezycall, but 9585 does... point
GK> CH> proven?
GK> Totally wrong I lived in Cheltenham until march this year and had 2
GK> numbers both prefixed 9583 I had easycall on one of them. 9583 was
GK> one of the first exchanges in Australia with this feature I believe
GK> :-) Having said this I did have trouble in this area due to line

You can prove easily which numbers support ezycall - just call telstra's
automated test facility on 1800 620 043 and follow the prompts.
9583 has recently been added to the ezycall system, but it was only
RECENTLY. 9584 is still pending on conversion, whist 9585 has had it since
day one (9585 is only a few years old - I got 9585-1112 only a few weeks
after it's inception in 1991 (From memory).. and suffer- the local car
dealer is 9585 1222 so we are easily confused).
9583 is one of the oldest exchanges out there though; my parents home was
originally 93-3679, which was switched to 583-3679 is the seventies
sometime (from memory - I was _really_ young then). I still remember the
fascination of hearing a different dialtone the day they upgraded from
x-bar to whatever it is now (SxS AFAIK).
