| subject: | ATM Yet another TDE question |
To: Reply-To: "Scott Berfield" The majority opinion in the archives seems to be that short straight TOT COC strokes will take down the mirror in such a way as to reduce TDE. However I have seen both undersized (trim back 1/4" from edge) and oversized laps suggested as the way to go. I must admit that I am a bit puzzled as to how both would accomplish the same thing. Are the strokes used the same? With a full size tool, can one get he advantages of the larger lap by simply allowing the pitch to press out past the edge? Assuming a 12" mirror with a 12" tool, and a TDE 1/4" wide, would it work to trim the pitch in 1/4" from the edge and then proceed with the short strokes? I had considered working the edge directly with either a small lap or my thumb, but I doubt my control and worry about doing more damage than good. Anyone ever mention how frustrating this whole thing can be? -sb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- Don't worry about people stealing your ideas.
