I reported a bug to IBM in OS/2 4.0, in that if you put the following line
in your config.sys...

IFS=C:\OS2\BOOT\CDFS.IFS /Q /C:9

it comes up with an error saying that I've exceeded the maximum (32), so
it's going to use the maximum (32). Any number greater than 8 causes this
error. It worked fine under OS/2 3.0, and I suspect that everything is
working fine in 4.0 too, I just have to ignore the error.

But anyway, IBM told me to use the CDFS.IFS from the Device Driver CDROM.
Said it was under MISC or something. Anyway, there is no CDFS.IFS on the
CDROM. There may be one zipped somewhere, but it's not obvious where it
is. Can someone give me a hint as to what I'm doing wrong? BFN. Paul.
