| subject: | ATM Making a cell? |

Ok, all
I am ready to make my 9 point cell,it will consist of a 3/4" plywood
tailgate, attached to the plywood ring on the end of tube(as per..Richard
Berry, I believe)with vent opening for a fan on back. Through this tailgate
will be three collimation bolts, set at 120 degrees, these bolts will be
through the tailgate but not attached to the tube ring, tailgate will only
secure to this ring. the collimation bolts will attach to another 3/4"
plywood disk, on which will be three mounts for the three triangles the
mirror will set on....not sure what I will use for the triangles but it
will have to be metal, not enough room for plywood unless I move the
focuser and spider out more, (would rather not).
Now the questions....
Is there a way to finish the assembly with RTV silicone holding the mirror
and everything in place, and if so how do you hold the triangles in place
and still have movement to level out? I dont like the idea of hold downs,
but will use them if I have too.
Next...how much of a vent opening do I need for a fan, and any ideas on
what type of fan is needed... I hear they do not have to draw alot of air,
is this so.
Do I also have to make a cap for this venting area? to close it off after
reaching equalibrium or do you run the fan constintly.
Appriciate the help. Rick
