Hi Dennis,

The two articles from Sky & Telescope cited below give valuable insight
into tubes and "tube currents". It is well worth stopping by
your public library to get the back issues. If you are in a hurry and are
well web connected, you can buy reprints from S&T's web site.

There is a good S&T article on tube baffeling too, but I don't have the citation.

It has been some time since I had a mirror coated. I recall that
Clausing's turn around was at least reasonable, if not blindingly fast. I
have never read anything against them. Their Dural coating is fairly
inexpensive, and, from my own observation as well as others', it holds up
at least as well, and perhaps better than other products. Clausing has a
long track record (70 years or so) of doing ATM mirrors.
