Turns out it's a fault with early releases of the new 288 model when
running the new (as supplied) firmware. It may need to go back for
adjustment. Basically it's faulty as supplied, but the distributor offers
NO supoort without Netcomm's direct interaction (via their support
services). Means I have to waste time in the 'support' merry-go-round
treated as a customer/consumer. Most distributers would simply exchange the
unit and handle the warranty/return situation internally.  8-).

Nono ;). In the computer industry it's difficult on average to supply
Australian made products, and we have some excellent Australian made and
owned Modem brands. As a retailer I sell and promote Australian products
where ever possible.. there's NO excuse for not supporting Australian
manufacturers when it comes to Modems IMHO.
