Are you nuts??? What does Vernon have to do to get respect from Wings'
fan or in the league. I grew up watching Mikey played junior hockey, and
professional hockey. He won a Memorial Cup for Portland Winter Hawks
when he was in junior (on loan from the Calgary Wranglers), he won a
Stanley Cup for the Calgary Flames (1989) and people still don't think
he can win a big game. His winning percentage for his career is better
than Patrick Roy's career. He brought the Red Wings to the Stanley Cup
Final against the New Jersey Devils two years ago. The only reason they
didn't win was because the Devils neutral trap stopped the Red Wing's
offense. Last year, Osgood played in the playoff and was shut down by
the same Avalanche in the conference final. This year, Mikey beat Grant
Fuhr, one of the best goaltender in the NHL, then Patrick Roy which is
probably the best right now. He gave up 2 goals against the Avalanche in
their home turf, gave up 6 goals away from Detroit.
I am so sick of tired of people calling them die hard fan, blaming only
the goaltender when their team lose. Iam also sick of people who doesn't
give the goaltender they deserve. My question again is: What does Mike
Vernon have to do to get your respect? Win a Stanley Cup?? Probably not.
Mikey will win the Stanley Cup this year and maybe leave Motown City
because of the treatment he got from the Wings' fan. I believed he is
used to it because the Calgary Flames fan did the same thing to him. I
like Mike Vernon since he was in Junior and will still like him even if
he didn't win the Cup.
So, Greg maybe you should give your head a shake and admit that Vernon
is better than Osgood. Don't get me wrong. I like Osgood also but I
don't think he is any better right now.
