In a message dated 12-22-96, Bill Grimsley said to Bill Garsden:

BG> You may recall our discussion about the slack canon
BG> bj-300/330 drivers for native os/2.

BG>How could I forget? And yes, I'm still using my BJ-300 here.

Duh! Those quotes again!

We did give it a going over. :) I'm still using my bj-330. Won't
die. But, I understand it's still a current model.

BG>It's just not good enough. I know it's easy to blame Canon
BG>for OS/2's lack of a decent BJ-300 driver, but if MS can
BG>supply their own driver with Win95 (and quite a decent
BG>driver it is, too), IBM are no less capable of doing the
BG>same.

Couldn't agree more.

BG> right, W95 has superior print functionality.

BG>Pity about the rest of Win95 though...

Yes, I'd forgotten how good os/2 is in 'getting the job done'.
And, I've discovered how average w95 is. I also installed win-nt
4. I've yet to warm to it.

BG>After 5 years of OS/2, it's not easy to like Win95 (and I
BG>still don't), but as MS Word 7 won't run under WinOS2, I
BG>sometimes have no choice but to use it.

Yes, the only reason I've installed it is to run apps like word 7
'native'. Some organisations with which I'm associated use it,
and it's simpler to run their setups.

BG> Pity, as os/2 is a top os.

BG>Agreed, but WinOS2 really needs the ability to run Win95-
BG>specific apps, otherwise many people will have no option
BG>but to change to the vastly inferior (albeit far better
BG>supported) Win95.

Or ms making os/2 versions. ;)

It would help to have the 'much heralded', but undelivered 'up to
date' os/2 version of smartsuite. Even when ibm buys the company
it can't deliver.

Looks like bootmanager is here for a while.
