It's standard practice in Sys V. So what's your real beef? I understand you
don't agree. It's OK, really. Pesonally I have never even thought about it
since I always explicitly cast malloc() and the likes to the type it's being
used for. But the OSK compiler handles it fine. "Outside the scope of OSK" is
misleading and inaccurate in itself. I too agree that it's more readable and
clearer to grasp what's going on if you cast malloc(), but it's seems to be a
matter of semantics, no?
Let's leave the verdict out. You may see 'void *malloc()' in the ANSI release
of the Microware C compiler. ;-)
