-> Well. The advisor tended to be really strict. We had to be on-time for
-> meetings, attendance every week. It was hard if we had band. There were
band
-> members from three different schools so the practice schedules are
different.
-> They expected us to be at every campout, they didn't really like it if you
had
-> to miss it due to a previous engagement. It was really stressfull in the
-> amount of hours we had to put in. (Espically with school stuff to worry
about)
-> I don't remeber all that much on how long the courses took for us to
complete
-> I took both of them in 94/95. The advisor cut the amount of hours that we
have
-> to be trained so it wouldn't be as long for us. (not really supposed to).
Well, my advisors are not strict with being there when it comes with
Band or School. I hope they will do something about the attendance,
what was the penalty in your Post?
-> We did the training during the regular meetings for the post. One night a
week
-> from 7-8:30. It wasn't that bad. They trained us using dummies. (adult
and
-> infant) We had to read from books as "homework" for both the first
responder
-> and CPR class. We also had to make up these cards (on index cards) saying
like
-> a type of illnes or allergy etc... then on the other side the symptoms.
also
-> they had us do type of notes on the cards too.
We have weekly meeting or so. And also started a little home work of
reading books and stuff.
-> The Explorer program is a co-ed Boy Scout program. To be an Explorer
Scout you
-> have to be between 14 and 21. after that you can become a leader
(advisor).
-> That's how the medical explorer post can work at boy scout camps and
campouts
-> as the first-aiders.
Yup!
->You are in band? So am I! What instrument do you play? I play the
->Flute/Piccolo and the Bassoon. How long have you been in band? This
is
with being in band. -> Although I will only minor in music performance.
At this point I want to go -> through the pre-med, and major in Biology
(of Chemistry but, most likely not) -> then go to medical school. I want
to become a doctor. My Bio grades are good. -> In Bio I, I got B's in
Bio II (Anatomy and Phys) I recieved 2 B's in first -> semester and the
3rd quarter is ending tomorrow (3/26) and I have an A right -> now. I'm
proud of myself :) The Bio II books are college books. So I'm ->
working at a college level class in terms of the work even though I only
get -> the high school credit. But it's a really nice class.
I am in the Band (not nexted year, but I will be for my Junior year).
So are you in high school or College? I am high school. And I plan to
become a paramedic and a Computer Programmer. I am taking computer
programming now, that is why I am not in band next year, the reason is
that loss out band nexted or the year after that, so I chose this year.
