I've got a 4.11 server configures with mirrored drives for the system
partition. Mirroring is accomplished with Novell mirroring, not a
hardware-based RAID controller. We're simply using an Adaptec 2940 and
using 2 SCSI devices. Drive #0 has gone south and needs to be replaced.
However, the system continues to function properly. My question is this:
Since drive#0 is most likely where the DOS partition was originally loaded,
did Novell's mirroring software mirror this partition as well, or only the
Novell partition on the drive? If I shut the system down, and install a new
drive, and the DOS system hasn't been mirrored, I'm in for quite an
installation issue. I know I won't lose any data, but I will lose a
considerable amount of time. Thoughts would be appreciated.
