P.S. If your only solution is to remove DS, here's how you do it. Go to (in
your case) the other server and do a dsrepair -A, view replica rings and
partitions. Pick the replica ring, view servers in the ring and select the
dead server, click on delete, accept warning messages, by typing "i accept".
Run a dsrepair repair local database until clean. Bring the dead server up
by running Server.exe -ndb. download a copy of toolbox v.1.09x or earlier.
Put it on a floppy, load a:\toolbox. copy a:\toolbox to sys:system. Unload
toolbox reload it from sys:system. Change directories to SYS:_NETWARE and
delete the *.ds* files. BOOM! DS is gone. Install ds onto the box using
NWCONFIG. Install into existing tree. Make sure your timesync.cfg file is
setup properly. Make sure time is in sync. install into existing tree.
While server is merging do a set dstrace = !w8, dstrace = !x8, dstrace =
!y8, dstrace = !z8. Also set dstrace = +s, Set dstrace = +schema. Watch
the directory service screen and you'll see the objects coming across.
