  Bob,
I must say that my 9" by 5/8" mirror was fine ground up
to 5 micron with a washer tool
and I did have fear of scratches in the smaller grits. To get around this
fear I added a little more
liquid soap, a few more drops on the mirror surface, and was always careful
to clean the surface of the
tool and mirror real good. I also beveled the washers with a dremmel tool,
but I also did that to my
tiles on my other tool.. I did like the cutting action of the washer tool
but feel much more easy with
the conventional tile tool.
                                                              Russ Jocoy
