Fit-Check of SERVIS-1 Spacecraft to Launch Vehicle Adapter Successful

SERVIS-1 Flight Model of USEF met first time the Flight Model of the
LV Adapter at MELCO Facilities in Kamakura / Japan late April 2003.
The satellite was clamped to the launch vehicle adapter by a CASA
EADS provided separation ring. After successful mechanical fit check
on April 24, the separation system was successfully tested by firing
KSRC provided pyrolock. The test campaign was full success; all
measured values were far below the allowable. The launch is scheduled
for October 2003. For the preparation, the launch teams will travel
to the launch site in Plesetsk in August.
