Your problem is most likely in your Linux Bootloader, since it overwrites 
the DOS bootloader area on disk c:  to install the Dual-Boot Loader.
You could probably get some help on repairing/rewriting this from
the book Knoppix Hacks or go to the website knoppix and searching the
archives.  Then again you may be able to get the info from your Suse man 
files.

You could also try a DSL boot disk and check out the boot loader file.
