I think this question should > have been directed to Colin Wheat. :) This hardware testing/comments/opinions business is no exact science unfortunately, as no one could possibly ever have time/money to test a reasonable cross-section of the available hardware under normal varying conditions/machines in the clone market.. And the available hardware situation changes enough to affect these judgements in periods as small as quarterly or less. It's why magazine lineup tests are littler more than a joke - so far as many consumers take them overly seriously word for word. ..But all we can do is report what we've seen and offer whatever conclusions were made, for what they're worth. Re the above quotes; I'd vote for the Matrox every time, but have to say I've not yet run one for more than a brief period. The CARDEX ET6000 card I'm running here is nice hardware, but the OS/2 drivers need a little work. Considering it's a new product (and new drivers) they've not done a bad job, much better than we've seen in the past from people like Diamond etc etc. Also the fact that the ET6000 is almost exactly half the cost of the Matrox Millenium (both with 2MB) may be a factor in the equation.
