From: "Mel Bartels" To: Reply-To: "Mel Bartels" >>> All that strehl and rms stuff is overkill. When I am figuring all I want is a graph that gives a shape to decide where best to remove glass <<< In a sense I also do this - ignore the mirror quality output until I get all the zones pegged to their correct numbers. However, it has been valuable for me over the years to look at the aggregate mirror quality number at different stages of figuring, then take the mirror outside for a star test, and thus gradually improve my sense of relating mirror quality in peak-valley, rms, strehl, to the star tests.
