It sounds like the watchdog packets are timing out the connections.
The server has a 5 min limit and it will test the connection if it has
heard nothing. It will then send 1 packet every minute for 10 minutes,
if the device doesn't respond it will kill that connection.
These values are all the defaults of course, you could try increasing
the number from every 1 minute to 2 and the number to 20 packets, that
way they will get up to 45 minutes before disconnection (5 + 2 x 20)
