I feel guilt in leading you to cut thick glass in the usual way. I was
observing people doing it and it was as simple as you can tell. It seems
that minimal amount of experience required for successful cutting of thin
glass is smaller  than  for thick glass. Observing skillful people doing
something often gives false impression about actual difficulty involved and
skill required.
