subject: os/2 2.1 vs Warp 3.0

G'day Mick!

TW>> Reading between the lines, exactly how bad was Warp 3.0, straight

MH> When I was running Warp Red Box with Windows 3.11 installed I was
MH> having about 1/4 of the crashes I was getting with just Windows, about
MH> one every other day. Dumped win3 and halved that, with FP#17 I didn't
MH> have any crashes that wern't my fault,

Assuming ye're talking of a real MS windows, well, I've not had one of them
for quite some time. :) But I've noticed several strange lockups since Warp
3.0 that just never happened under 2.1 :(

MH> also noticed a significant preformance boost. This was with a 386dx40
 MH> with 8mb, then u/g to 486dx2/66

Well, I'm about halfway between the two I guess, and the task switching
could use a real kick in the arse. Actually running the same things I
normally would, 3.0 proves no problem, but switching between tasks is a
major pain in the backspace.

MH> Netscape is good for surfing but I have yet to get it to d/l more than
 MH> 60% of any file.

The beta I found on a coverdisk expired before I even managed a connect,
something I've yet to attempt with Warp (and my main reason for changing
up) :|

TW>> D'ye have an FTP site, per chance?
MH> I'm working on it, a __MAJOR__ undertaking when I don't know anything
 MH> about TCP/IP etc.8-(

I was just meaning "d'ye know where I might be able to FTP the
fixpaks?", but I'd be interested to hear if ye do succeed in getting
ye're own going... :)

have fun
