The game is to find the Strehl ratio of a mirror with the "worst"
Milles-Lacroix plot - all Foucault readings on the boundary. Sixtests
input file for a Texereau standard mirror:
------------------------
Worst Milles-Lacroix
200.0 0.0 Mirror, obstruction diameters (mm)
Foucault
0.0 Source distance (0=moving source)
y, mm X, mm
20 1.05
40 .82
60 1.07
80 1.57
100 2.28
*
-1.000 2400.318 Conic targets: b, R (mm)
0.0000 Measurement std deviation, mm 2400.0 Longitudinal reading bias, mm
-------------------------
Result is .857 Strehl.
Strehl says Milles-Lacroix is a little pessimistic. Would someone familiar
with M-L check the above numbers? I couldn't find M-L in any of my ATM
books, and I've always ignored it as being ray optics. What
I've done is to find the Foucault readings which give transverse
aberrations right at the Airy disk radius (all the same side, except the
last (ignored) mm of TDE (TUE?) to balance the aberrations).
