Tried that but no luck. I did this with com.sys remed out:

[I:\]>dir com*

The volume label in drive I is OS2.
The Volume Serial Number is A768:5C15.
Directory of I:\

21/12/96 15:06 6 0 com2
        1 file(s) 6 bytes used
                    63673856 bytes free

[I:\]>dir I:\com2

The volume label in drive I is OS2.
The Volume Serial Number is A768:5C15.

Directory of \DEV

SYS0002: The system cannot find the file specified.

[I:\]>

You can see the file with dir com* but dir com2
displays \DEV directory.
I don't have a \DEV directory...

The only thing that might work is a disk editor.
I have Norton but I haven't tried it.
It's a DOS program and I don't know what would
happen if I used it on hpfs which is where this
problem is.
