I started fiddling with a mike (came with the sb16), connected to
a sb16 under warp4. Was thinking of finally getting voice type
going.

My problem is, I'm having trouble reliably setting mike levels
under os/2.

It's further complicated by winos2 setting the sound volume, and
mike level higher on exit.

[The problem is probably linked to that in my message titled
'system sound'.]

I tried two os/2 mixers for the sb16 that I found on a bbs (none
were supplied with the card):-

ctmixer.exe and sdsbpmix.exe

Both are pre-warp4. Neither will allow me to adjust the mike
level reliably. They either refuse to respond, do nothing, or set
the mike off.

I also find that when I mute the sound using the button on the
os/2 volume control, close the app, then open it, the volume has
reset from 85 to 21.

What gives? Is this just me?

What do other sb16 users do to adjust mike and sound system 
settings?
