subject: Roadster 228(enh 33.6)

G'day Andrew,

AM> Can anyone please help me with an init string for a new Roadster 288
AM> enhanced 33.6 model AM3451. I've tried all the stored profiles and
AM> various other strings with Telix 3.22 and Cooee for Windoze. The
AM> problem is that after dialling it unsuccessfully negotiates for 60secs
AM> before hanging up. It's getting pretty annoying as I've had it for a
AM> week and can't get it to talk.

Depends on which BBS you call. Some modems (most commonly the Banksia ones)
aren't all that compatible with Roadsters. The M34F modems aren't great with
USR Couriers either. Most of the time my Roadster connects okay, but doesn't
seem to handle the lines very well, often delivering only reasonable CPS
rates.

Try this string:

AT&F+MS=11,1,300,33600%E2\N3%C3&D0W1L3S0=0

Really, it should work with the factory defaults (AT&F).
Chances are it's just the modem at the other end. Have you tried other BBS's?
