JH> To be perfectly honest, I've never seen a frame SN before. My vehicles
JH> must all be too old to even find them.
Well my old '46 Plymouth Special Deluxe had them. Many only have them under
metal plates that serve no purpose but to cover and protect the frame number.
I had a '36 Chevy that had to have the cover ground off to expose the number
and them welded back on, all in the presence of a DMV person, to allow me to
retitle an abandoned car we found in the Vegas desert near Jean, NV.
The main problem is that with the truck being primarily in Illinois, surface
corrosion from road salt can make the job ten times harder if I don't know
he
general area on the frame for the number.
