From: "Bob May" To: "atmlist" Reply-To: "Bob May" Googlz 64 indicates that you should be doing the polishing in an airconditioned room in that area. It is more for those who have temps in the '60s to work with. As a softer pitch, it will indeed move a lot before getting the mirror fully polished. I'd suggest that before pouring the pitch, you do your initial polishing with some polishing pads to get a polish and then use the pitch for figuring the mirror which will decrease the amount of need for the lap. Gotgrit has pads although they may be a bit expensive to obtain there. You may want to first try an eyeglass making shop and get the glass polishing pads (they also use something similar for polishing plastic but it works slower on glass). Apply the pads on a dry warm surface and press immediately with a warm mirror and the glue will take up the errors of the surface without problems and allow a much smoother fiinish.
