Googlz 64 indicates that you should be doing the polishing in an
airconditioned room in that area.  It is more for those who have temps in
the '60s to work with.  As a softer pitch, it will indeed move a lot before
getting the mirror fully polished.
I'd suggest that before pouring the pitch, you do your initial polishing
with some polishing pads to get a polish and then use the pitch for
figuring the mirror which will decrease the amount of need for the lap. 
Gotgrit has pads although they may be a bit expensive to obtain there.  You
may want to first try an eyeglass making shop and get the glass polishing
pads (they also use something similar for polishing plastic but it works
slower on glass).  Apply the pads on a dry warm surface and press
immediately with a warm mirror and the glue will take up the errors of the
surface without problems and allow a much smoother fiinish. Bob May
