LOL!  

That's exactly why you list it in the first place.  

It's one thing if an Echo is local to a single BBS.  Once it opens 
up beyound that you risk runnung into problems.  

What happens if someone else sets up an interface in FIDO and runs 
the same node number as you are using?  

That's right, they can't because of the Node List would tell those 
involved that the number is not available.  The Echo List works 
in the same manner.
