subject: warp 4 bootup

I had this problem, and know someone else who had it too. Different
motherboard, different bramd of BIOs, one a Pentium and one a Pentium
pro. I did sort of solve it by adding the /V switch, and then when it
boots, at the very end you can see the parameters it uses. Add these
parameters to IBM1S506.ADD and the delay goes.

I just updated the flash BIOS on my machine (Award) and that has fixed
the problem also, it boots through IBM1S506.ADD with no delay. I think
it has something to do with a plug & play BIOS. I have two WD hard
drives on the first IDE channel, and a CD on the second.

I previously had the Warp 4 setup on a non plug & play 486 machine. I
moved the drive to a new machine, and lo and behold the delay appeared,
and the boot process was longer on a much faster machine. Now fixed as
above tho

cheers
Ray

SC>warp 4 on my machine takes ages to boot up. SC>Once running it is
fine but during the bootup the IBM1S506 base device drive SC>sit
there doing very little that I can tell for 42 seconds SC>before the
rest of the boot process continues. For the SC>first 30 seconds the
the IDE I/O light is on constant yet SC>there is know noise or other
indication that any of the SC>drives are being accessed at all,
   (8*Creative, 1.7G SC>Seagate/Medalist, 212M Samsung/Apollo) then the
light goes SC>out and it continues to sit there for another 12
seconds SC>before it gets it AintoG and finishes the Boot.

SC>This is pretty annoying considering my old 486 was booting
SC>warp 3 in less than 40 seconds.
