You're reading it right; but how are you defining "outperforms?"
I wouldn't bother flexing a mirror with that much TDE; it's a fair amount
of work to build a good warping harness.

I sent this two days ago but it never showed up on the list, or nobody
bothered to respond. But I didn't get it back, so I assume it never went
out.

Hi all,
I just made a startling discovery about my 10" mirror.

http://www.convertabarn.com/10_inch_mirror.htm

If I am reading these Ronchigrams right, this mirror is spherical with bad
TDE considering 1/8" of the edge is already masked off. Maybe not
quite spherical, but very close.

Even in this condition, it outperforms every Meade mirror it has been
compared against. That doesn't make this mirror good, it just shows how
bad Meade SCT's really are.

Now a question??? Can this mirror be flexed to a parabola, or do I need to
strip it (again) and refigure it? If possible, I would rather flex it now,
and refigure it when the time comes to recoat it.

Someone please tell me if I am misreading these pics. Clear skies,
Jerry
