-=> Quoting Darryl Georgee to Colin Wheat <=- DG> Thankx muchly re my Sound Card probs. under OS2. DG> OK its a 486dx 2/66 with 16 meg. Ram, an ESDI HD,an Adaptec SCSI card DG> running my Sony 2X CD. The SB is supposed to be a "Vibra" card made DG> by Creative Labs. The OS is Warp ver 3.0. I've tried installing it DG> using the easy and the custom method. The ssytem recognises the DG> CD and the SCSI card BUT not the SB. The SB works OK under Dos and DG> Win3.11. I had to install something called an Intel Prog manager DG> (or could be config manager) B4 the SB installation prog. would work DG> Its something to do with "plug and play". DG> I did have the SB working once but when I shut the system down and DG> rebooted it wouldnt work again. The config.sys files stops at the line DG> Dev=c:\os2\mmos2\sb16.ssy or wotever. I'm really happy with OS2 but DG> cant see why this SB is giving me so much trouble. Bye 4 now anyway. I have a I-A16C Audio card that has the Creative labs ViBRA 16C PnP Audio chip on it so its probably the same prob I had. for mine the two progs that were stuffing it up CTCM.EXE and CTCU.EXE CTCU is the major pain in the arse it wont run properly under OS/2. When I install the drivers to OS/2 the came up with the wrong IRQ eg:IRQ3 and I could not change it as the prog to change it was CTCU.EXE I was running HPFS so I could not boot DOS change drives and then run it? had me stumped for a while until I desided to cope the file CTPNP.cfg and there was another I think from my working DOS partition over the bodgy one's in the OS/2 partition. Rebooted and all was well. I hope you have same files good luck anyway and seeya.
