G'Day Bill,
On 13/12/96, Bill Grimsley said to Jason Meaden the following :
JM>>> IMHO you get much better performance from a genuine Pentium.
PE>> The Cyrix 100 is rated at P120+. Are you talking about
PE>> benchmark performance or are you talking about the specific
PE>> Voice application?
JM>> I mean the VoiceType Dictation application. I haven't seen
JM>> benchmarks, only people who have gone from non-Intel to
JM>> Intel and noticed remarkable differences.
BG> Does the above app (or any other part of Warp 4.0) make use of the
BG> processor's FPU? If so, that would explain the difference.
BG> Otherwise, I can't see why.
I have no idea what part of the CPU it takes specific advatage of, if any.
I didn't write it. I am only a humble man who's occupation gives him
exposure to these things :-)
Regards,
Jason Meaden.
