A lot of how fast you go is how much weight is on the interface and how far
you are overhanging the mirror from the tool center. For rough hogging,
don't bother to really let the mirror get too close to the center for the
starting point, only changing the position to insure that the mirror will
fill out to a full grind at the same time that the ROC is correct, or
nearly so.
