Properly motivated, that person with the small mirror might make ############################### end of snip Well, that makes my 2.5 inch about half as big as the 4.5". I finally put it together yesterday and last night I managed to point it upwards between the clouds. I managed to split alpha centauri - just, jewel box was a pretty sight as were the clusters near scorpio. Omega centauri was a bright smudge against a not so dark background (I live in a city where you can count the stars with the fingers on one hand). Mars was a very bright little disk (magnification was about 30 - all I could manage with a 20 mm Ramsden EP; er - yes, I'll have to rebuild my optics arsenal again)! But the moon was very spectacular probably because it just filled the field of view - and there was just the tiniest hint of colour - due to the eyepiece. Anyhow, I'm back on the air again - so to speak Cheers Frank Q --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/100 1 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
