I have a 33.6K KTX external modem. It seems to connect at 31200 and I have auto-retrain enabled (but don't know what goes on). When I download from a BBS I achieve over 3200 bps and on internet I have ftp'd stuff at up to 2.4k per second from the USA. I am happy with this, but don't know how it compares to the heavy duty modems pushed by business computer companies. Prior to purchasing this modem I had a Maestro 14400 external fax modem, and the KTX is significantly faster, with no line drop outs. I hope this is helpful to the discussion. --- Squish/386 v1.11* Origin: JabberWOCky BBS +61 7 3868 1597 (3:640/305) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/99 620/243 623/630 625/155 640/201 206 230 305 306 311 702 SEEN-BY: 640/820 821 822 823 829 711/401 413 430 934 712/311 407 505 506 517 SEEN-BY: 712/623 624 628 704 841 888 713/317 714/906 772/20 800/1 @PATH: 640/305 820 712/624 711/934 |
