subject: 33.6 Modem

I have a 33.6K KTX external modem. It seems to connect at 31200 and I have
auto-retrain enabled (but don't know what goes on). When I download from a
BBS I achieve over 3200 bps and on internet I have ftp'd
stuff at up to 2.4k per second from the USA. I am happy with this, but
don't know how it compares to the heavy duty modems pushed by business
computer companies. Prior to purchasing this modem I had a Maestro 14400
external fax modem, and the KTX is significantly faster, with no line drop
outs. I hope this is helpful to the discussion.
