subject: USR Courier (Domestic) for Aust service tones?

HM> A friend of mine bought a USR Courier, domestic (ie US) model. He says it

HM> doesn't detect busy and dialtone, so he uses X0 which is okay but his fax

HM> software won't let him do that for some reason or other. Is there a fix

 HM> to make

HM> the Courier detect Australian service tones?

He will have to use ATX1

It will do so perfectly on the right exchanges here in Aust.

My bet is that he is on an s12 exchange. (which in my experience will also

restrict his bandwidth)

If he rings twelstra and asks to be put back on the older exchange gear

in the building there will be no charge (first time) and his problem will

be solved.

There is nothing wrong with the Domestic Courier or its SDL.....

IT IS the stupid software settings on the S12 exchange.

The only advantage with being on S12 is that you can get your hybrids on your

line cards trained. the disadvantages outway the advantages here....

I deliberately went to s12 so I could get my cards trained and found out the

hard way.
