$200. You can certainly get cheaper 336 modems, but
(a) 336L has voice -- maybe useful at some stage;
(b) I bought it at Harvey Norman (== exorbitant usually), and
(c) I decided to pay more for something with recommendations (from Dave Hatch)
    than risk it with a $130-$170 job.

Not a bad price for the Hayes. :-)
