DD>>> I'm not sure that cable modems are the answer either. Remember the

DD>>> bandwidth is shared by other homes on your segment.

BG>> As you're well aware, I live in a rather low-tech area where new

 BG> technology

BG>> is often ignored, so that may actually work in my favour...

DD>> Good point - not much take up with cable TV in your area then?

BG> Let's just say that I can't see Optus recouping much of a return on their

BG> investment in our area for at least another 200 years. Although they are

BG> currently calling around even more frequently than the JWs, the

 BG> connection rate

BG> is running at less than 5% (and that's after nearly 8 months of this area

 BG> being

 BG> wired for cable).

They are doing a lot of repeat work....

As usual in your area I hear that there is a big market for secondhand (near

new) Fibre optic cable and a few of your neighbours have been cashing in on

this. Notice next time that the JW's call IN BETWEEN Optus visits.

CableTV will be the biggest contributor to arma... armag..the end of the world
