-= Pete Replied to Bill Grimsley about: Telstra/Motorola 56k announcement =-
G'day Bill
BG> No matter, a new Austel SDL may only be a matter of 6-8 weeks
BG> away (if USR were being truthful when I spoke with them
BG> yesterday).
PC> We can only live in hope.
BG> No skin off my nose anyway, as I dumped USR some time ago.
BG> Great modems, but a crying bloody shame about their diabolical
BG> lack of local backup.
Your right there, I'd hate to think what i'd do if i ever had to send
the Courier back for repair, I'd be better off sending it back to the
USofA
BG> The even funnier thing is that Dynalink sell precisely the SAME
BG> internal modem as USR, but for just over HALF the price that USR
BG> is charging. Dunno about you Peter, but I'm laughing all the
BG> way to my bank... :)
That is strange how the price varies so much. Now with the Sportster
Pausing problem fixed the Dynalink is even better value.
Pete.
